How is the Spanish security guard exam marked?
With the formula [A − E/(n−1)] × 10/P, where A is correct answers, E is wrong ones, n is the number of options and P the total number of questions. With three options, each wrong answer costs half a correct one and blanks are not penalised. The paper is marked 0 to 10 and you need 5 points, which is 67 correct answers if you answer all one hundred.
How many questions are there and how long does it take?
One hundred questions in fifty minutes, each with three options of which exactly one is true.
Should you answer every question?
Not always. With three options and a 0.5 penalty per error, answering at random has an expected value of exactly zero. Answering only pays if you can rule out at least one of the three options, which is why the mock shows your result both with and without the questions you left blank.
Does the app cover the physical test?
No. It covers the knowledge paper. The physical aptitude test comes first, is marked pass or fail, and is eliminatory: without it you never reach the knowledge paper.
Does it cover the whole official syllabus?
Yes: all 57 topics of Annex III, grouped in fifteen blocks, from constitutional and criminal law to firearms, fire protection and first aid. Every mock spreads the questions across blocks in proportion to their weight in the syllabus.
Do you have to pay to try it?
