With a category B licence we may drive motor vehicles of no more than 3,500 kg MAM that cannot carry more than 9 people, including the driver. They may tow a trailer or semi-trailer of no more than 750 kg MAM. The B licence also allows you to drive a combination made up of a towing vehicle of this category and a trailer with a MAM of more than 750 kg, as long as the total MAM of the combination does not exceed 4,250 kg. When such a combination with a trailer of more than 750 kg exceeds 3,500 kg MAM, you must pass the skills and behaviour test required to get the B96 authorisation.
