The category B licence allows you to drive motor vehicles whose maximum authorised mass is no more than 3,500 kilograms and whose number of seats, including the driver's, is no more than 9. These vehicles may tow a trailer whose maximum authorised mass is no more than 750 kilograms. You may also tow trailers of more than 750 kg as long as the MAM of the combination does not exceed 3,500 kg. If it exceeds that weight, it can go up to 4,250 kg, but you must apply for an authorisation (B96).
