Under Article 4.2 of the General Driver Regulations, the B licence allows you to drive motor cars with a MAM of up to 3,500 kg towing a trailer with a MAM of up to 750 kg. B+E is only needed for heavier trailers when the combination goes beyond what the B licence allows, and C1 is for lorries.
