With the B licence we can drive: motor cars that do not exceed a MAM of 3,500 kg and cannot carry more than 9 people, including the driver. They may tow a trailer that does not exceed a MAM of 750 kg. They may also tow a trailer with a MAM over 750 kg as long as the combination (towing vehicle plus trailer) does not exceed a MAM of 3,500 kg. (If it exceeds 3,500 kg, up to 4,250 kg, you must obtain the B96 authorisation.) So we can drive a motor car of up to 3,500 kg with a trailer of up to 750 kg, and then the combination will exceed 3,500 kg.
