Correct answer

  • CA los 4 años desde la fecha de matriculación.4 years after the date of registration.
Explanation

Private vehicles used for carrying people, with up to nine seats including the driver's, must pass the ITV (vehicle inspection) 4 years after the date of registration. After that, every two years until they are 10 years old, and every year once they are over 10. The inspection result can be: favourable – the vehicle is fit to be driven; if it has minor defects, they must be repaired, but there is no need to return for a new inspection. Unfavourable – when the inspection finds defects that seriously affect the vehicle's safety, the inspection body keeps the ITV card and gives the registered keeper a receipt for it. The receipt is valid only for the period given to fix the defects, and for the route from the station to the workshop where the vehicle must be repaired and back for a new inspection. Negative – the vehicle is not allowed to be driven. It must be taken from the station to its destination by other means (a tow truck).
