According to Article 35.2.a of the General Traffic Regulations (RGC), as worded by RD 518/2026, the HOV lane (VAO) is limited to motorcycles, cars and convertible dual-purpose vehicles, and is prohibited for all other vehicles and vehicle combinations, including cars towing trailers, whatever the mass of the trailer.
