Correct answer
- AReducir la velocidad o apartarse al arcén si es posible.Reduce speed or move onto the hard shoulder if possible.
Under Article 86 of the General Traffic Regulations, a driver who notices that a vehicle behind intends to overtake must keep close to the right-hand edge of the carriageway and, if possible, move onto the hard shoulder. This lets the other vehicle overtake safely without its manoeuvre being hindered. The correct answer is to slow down or move onto the hard shoulder if it is usable, because this makes overtaking easier and helps road safety.
