Correct answer

As a general rule, minors who are 1.35 metres tall or less must travel in the rear seats of the vehicle, using an approved child restraint system (child seat) suited to their height and weight. This improves their protection in an accident and reduces the risk of serious injury. In exceptional cases, they may sit in the front seat when: - The vehicle has no rear seats, or - All the rear seats are taken by other minors in the same situation who also need child restraint systems, so it is not possible to fit all the child seats needed. Also, if the minor uses a rear-facing restraint system in the front seat, the front airbag must be deactivated, because if it goes off it could cause very serious injuries.
