The tyre pressure must be the one recommended by the manufacturer, because it is designed to give the best performance and better driving safety, especially in bad weather such as rain. Tyres that are not correctly inflated, whether above or below the recommended pressure, can affect grip and control of the vehicle and increase the risk of aquaplaning, as set out in the General Traffic Regulations.
