Correct answer
- ANos ceñiremos al borde derecho de la calzada. We will keep to the right-hand edge of the carriageway.
When we are going to be overtaken, we are obliged to keep to the right-hand edge of the carriageway, without entering the hard shoulder, and we do not have to change our speed, although we must reduce it if a dangerous situation arises, unless the overtaking driver slows down, in which case we must make it easier for them to return to their lane. The driver of the vehicle being overtaken is prohibited from increasing speed or making manoeuvres that prevent or hinder the overtaking. Drivers of heavy or large vehicles, or of vehicles that must keep to a specific speed limit, must slow down or move onto the hard shoulder as soon as possible, if it is usable, to let those behind pass when the density of oncoming traffic, the insufficient width of the carriageway, or its profile or condition do not allow them to be overtaken easily and without danger. If these drivers cannot keep fully to the right-hand edge of the carriageway, but overtaking can still be done safely, they will show this to the driver approaching from behind by extending their arm horizontally and moving it repeatedly from back to front, or with the right indicator.
