A green light in the shape of an arrow pointing downwards indicates that you may drive in the lane over which it is lit. This permission to use the lane does not remove the obligation to stop at a round red light or, as an exception to the rules on the order of precedence, to obey any other sign or road marking that requires you to stop or give way, or, where there is none, to comply with the general rules on right of way.
