Correct answer

When a vehicle stops in a tunnel because of an emergency, it is compulsory to switch off the engine, switch on the hazard warning lights and keep the sidelights on. This rule is set out in the Traffic and Road Safety Code, specifically in the article on stopping in tunnels. This is done to avoid the risk of fire and make it easier for other vehicles to pass, as well as to ensure visibility in emergencies.
