Animal-drawn vehicles, bicycles, mopeds, vehicles for people with reduced mobility and personal mobility vehicles are prohibited on motorways (autopistas) and dual carriageways (autovías). However, cyclists over 14 years of age may ride on the hard shoulders of dual carriageways (autovías), unless this is prohibited by the relevant signs for justified road safety reasons. This prohibition will be completed with a panel giving the alternative route.
