According to Article 118.1 of the General Traffic Regulations (RGC), as worded by RD 518/2026, motorcycle riders and passengers must wear an approved helmet, protective gloves on roads outside built-up areas and closed footwear covering the whole foot on all types of road. The rest of their clothing also protects the body, which is directly exposed to the weather and to falls.
