Article 49.1 of the General Traffic Regulations prohibits driving motor vehicles at less than 60 km/h on motorways (autopistas) and dual carriageways (autovías). It is a fixed figure for these roads; on other roads, the minimum is half the general speed limit for each category of vehicle.
