Behind another vehicle you must always leave enough space to stop without hitting it if it brakes sharply (Article 54 of the RGC). The extra gap so that the vehicle behind can overtake is not required where overtaking is prohibited, as after this sign, and there is no fixed distance of 50 metres for cars.
