On mopeds and motorcycles, as long as the vehicle's registration documents allow it, one passenger may ride besides the rider, provided the passenger is over 12 and wears a protective helmet. As an exception, children aged 7 and over may ride on motorcycles or mopeds ridden by their father, mother or guardian, or by adults they have authorised, as long as they wear an approved helmet.
