Under Annex XII of the General Vehicle Regulations, the V-16 device is part of the equipment of cars, buses and coaches, mixed-use and goods vehicles, and vehicle combinations, but not of motorcycles. From 1 October 2026 motorcycles must carry a high-visibility reflective vest.
