When the vehicle is stopped inside a tunnel or underpass not because of a breakdown but because of the traffic, the driver and passengers must not leave the vehicle. In this case the hazard warning lights are switched on for a short time to warn drivers behind, the sidelights are kept on and the engine is switched off. You must stop as far as possible from the vehicle in front.
