According to Article 35.2.a of the General Traffic Regulations (RGC), as worded by RD 518/2026, the HOV lane (VAO) is limited to motorcycles, cars and convertible dual-purpose vehicles and is prohibited for all other vehicles and vehicle combinations, including cars towing trailers. The number of occupants does not change this prohibition, and the V-15 sign only exempts a vehicle from the occupancy condition, not from the ban on towing a trailer.
