Correct answer
- AA una distancia que le permita detenerse en caso de frenado brusco del vehículo que pretende adelantar. At a distance that allows them to stop if the vehicle they intend to overtake brakes sharply.
While preparing to overtake, you must keep a gap that allows you to stop without hitting the vehicle in front if it brakes sharply (Article 54.1 of the General Traffic Regulations). Driving right behind it reduces your view and your margin to react, and there is no general minimum of 50 metres for cars.
