Under Article 118.4 of the General Traffic Regulations (as worded by Royal Decree 518/2026), drivers of motorcycles, cars, buses and coaches, goods vehicles, mixed-use vehicles and non-agricultural vehicle combinations must wear a high-visibility reflective vest when they get out of the vehicle and are on the carriageway or hard shoulder of roads outside built-up areas.
