Under Article 119.2 of the General Traffic Regulations (RGC) (as worded by RD 518/2026), the exemption for people accompanying a learner driver has been removed, so the instructor must wear the seat belt on all types of road. In addition, on motorways there is no exemption even for vehicles on an emergency call.
