What counts is height, not age. If the child is 135 cm tall or less, they must use the approved restraint system suited to their height and weight and, as a rule, travel in the back; they may travel in the front only in the exceptional cases of Article 117 of the General Traffic Regulations. If they are taller, they may travel in the front wearing a seat belt.
