Making a U-turn is prohibited on autopistas (motorways) and autovías (dual carriageways), except at places provided for that purpose. Even if there is an open gap in the central reservation, it must not be used to make a U-turn. We may only use these gaps when they are specially signed for joining a lane set up in the opposite direction to the usual one.
