Under Article 118.3 of the General Traffic Regulations (as worded by RD 518/2026), PMV riders must wear a helmet and, between sunset and sunrise or in poor visibility, use at least one lit or reflective item visible from 150 metres. A reflective vest is only compulsory on all types of road for people who use the PMV for their work.
