Overtaking on the right is only allowed in certain circumstances, such as when the driver of the vehicle you intend to overtake signals that they are going to turn left. This is set out in Article 82.2 of the General Traffic Regulations, which states that overtaking must normally be done on the left but allows it on the right when specific conditions justify it, so as to keep the road safe.
