Under Article 18.2 of the General Traffic Regulations (as worded by Royal Decree 518/2026), the phone may only be used while driving when the call takes place without using your hands and without using a headset, earphones or similar devices. The exception for wireless devices built into the protective helmet only applies to motorcycles and mopeds.
