For eco-driving, keep your speed as steady as possible, avoiding unnecessary acceleration and braking. It is not a question of driving faster or slower, but of keeping a constant average speed for as long as possible. Choosing the right gear is another key aspect of eco-driving. Driving in high gears with the engine at low revs means lower fuel consumption. We should use the highest possible gear (4th or 5th) even in town and keep the engine at low revs. In low gears the engine runs at higher revs and uses more fuel. Every gear change wastes fuel, so try not to make unnecessary changes and use the gear that suits the circumstances at each moment.
