According to Article 154 of the General Traffic Regulations (RGC), as worded by RD 518/2026, bicycles may use trailers or semi-trailers that meet the technical specifications for carrying people, animals weighing up to 15 kg or goods, subject to any restrictions set by the local authority; on roads outside built-up areas, only during the day and in conditions that do not reduce visibility. The rule limiting the trailer to 50 % of the unladen mass no longer applies to bicycles.
