The STOP road sign in the question requires every driver to stop the vehicle at the next stop line or, if there is none, immediately before the junction, and to give way to vehicles travelling on the road they are approaching. If, owing to exceptional circumstances, there is not enough visibility from the place where they stopped, the driver must stop again at a place where they have visibility, without endangering any road user.
