Under Article 110 of the General Traffic Regulations (RGC), the horn may only be used exceptionally, for example to avoid a possible accident, and this is not limited to one type of road: it applies both in and outside built-up areas. Only the warning that you are about to overtake is restricted to roads outside built-up areas.
