The order of precedence between the different types of signs that appear to contradict each other is as follows: - Signals and orders from traffic officers. - Temporary signs that change the normal use of the road, and fixed marker devices. - Traffic lights. - Upright traffic signs. - Road markings. When signs of the same type contradict each other, the most restrictive one prevails. For example, if two upright signs contradict each other, a STOP and a give way, you must obey the STOP.
