This sign prohibits all vehicles from driving faster than the speed shown by the road marking. It applies until the next 'End of prohibitions' or 'End of speed limit' sign, or another different 'Maximum speed' sign. If the marking is in a marked-out lane, as in the picture, the limit applies only to the lane where it is placed. If the lanes are not marked out, the speed limit applies to the whole carriageway.
