The maximum speed on a motorway (autopista) is 120 km/h and the minimum speed for all vehicles is 60 km/h. We are not allowed to drive below that speed without a justified reason. Any driver who, because of an emergency, has to drive on a motorway (autopista) or dual carriageway (autovía) at an abnormally low speed must leave it at the first exit. If you are driving at an abnormally low speed that seriously disrupts traffic, you must use the right-hand hard shoulder, if it is wide enough, with the hazard warning lights on (this applies to vehicles with a MAM of no more than 3,500 kg).
