Explanation
Article 119 of the General Traffic Regulations exempts drivers from wearing the seat belt while reversing or parking. From October 2026 taxi drivers are no longer exempt, and vehicles on emergency calls are only exempt in built-up areas, never on motorways (autopistas), dual carriageways (autovías) or conventional roads.
