According to Article 154 of the General Traffic Regulations (as worded by RD 518/2026), bicycles may use trailers or semi-trailers that meet the technical specifications to carry people, animals of up to 15 kg or goods, with any restrictions set by the local authority; on roads outside built-up areas, only during the day and in conditions that do not reduce visibility. The rule of 50% of the unladen mass no longer applies to bicycles.
