The greater the weight, the higher the consumption, because more power is needed to move the vehicle. The braking distance increases because of the vehicle's weight, and the risk of skidding is higher because the centrifugal force increases. The braking distance is the distance travelled by the vehicle from the moment the driver applies the brake until it comes to a stop. This distance can vary depending on the following factors: - The speed you are travelling at. - The condition of the vehicle's tyres, suspension and brakes. - The vehicle's load. - The condition of the road surface. - The weather conditions on the road.
