On ice, act in the same way as on snow: move off in high gears, reduce speed, use the steering wheel and pedals smoothly and, if the vehicle does not have ABS, use engine braking whenever possible. Braking distance (from the moment you touch the brake until the vehicle stops) is up to 2 times longer in rain, and up to 10 times longer on ice.
