When we notice an ambulance on an emergency call we must let it through. Sometimes we will do this by stopping, other times by moving over to the right or to the left, depending on the circumstances. Priority vehicles on an emergency call show they are there by using the flashing light and the special siren at the same time. However, their drivers may use the flashing light alone when not using the siren is no danger to other road users. In that case other road users must still treat them as priority vehicles and give way to them.
