Only buses, combinations of non-special vehicles, dual-purpose (mixed) vehicles and motor vehicles with a MAM over 3,500 kg must carry an approved fire extinguisher. So cars and motorcycles do not have to carry one. Cars, dual-purpose vehicles and goods vehicles with a MAM of no more than 3,500 kg, except three-wheeled vehicles and quadricycles, must carry: a hazard warning device (an amber device with geolocation, powered by its own battery, placed on the highest possible part of the immobilised vehicle to ensure maximum visibility); a reflective vest; and a spare wheel or temporary-use wheel with the tools needed to change wheels, or an alternative system that gives sufficient guarantees of mobility.
