Bicycles, mopeds, vehicles for people with reduced mobility, animal-drawn vehicles, personal mobility vehicles and any vehicle that cannot reach the minimum speed of 60 km/h are prohibited on motorways (autopistas) and dual carriageways (autovías), unless they have express permission. However, cyclists over 14 may ride on the hard shoulders of dual carriageways (autovías), unless this is prohibited by signs for justified road safety reasons. Such a ban will come with a panel showing the alternative route.
