All vehicles must have the appropriate lights switched on when travelling between sunset and sunrise, at any time of day in tunnels, underpasses and stretches of road covered by the 'Tunnel' sign, and at any time of day when weather or environmental conditions noticeably reduce visibility. In especially bad weather or environmental conditions, the rear fog light must be used together with the sidelights and also with dipped headlights, main beam or the front fog lights. Never use only the rear fog light, as the wrong answer 'only the rear fog light is compulsory' suggests.
