In all cases, a load that sticks out at the back of a vehicle (except vehicles less than 1 metre wide) must be marked with a 50 × 50 cm panel with alternating red and white diagonal stripes. It is placed at the rear end of the load, at right angles to the vehicle's axis. When the load sticks out along the whole width of the back of the vehicle, we place 2 panels, and their stripes form an upside-down "V". Also, when driving at night or in conditions that noticeably reduce visibility, we must have a red light at the back and a white light at the front.
