According to Article 18.2.a of the General Traffic Regulations (RGC) (as worded by Royal Decree 518/2026), an exception to the prohibition is made for certified or approved wireless devices built into the protective helmet of motorcycle and moped riders, used only for intercom or navigation and provided they do not affect riding safety. Earphones that are not built into the helmet are still prohibited.
