Under Article 118.1.b of the General Traffic Regulations (RGC) (as worded by RD 518/2026), protective gloves are compulsory for motorcycle riders and passengers on interurban roads, but not on all types of road. Even so, it is advisable to wear them always, also in summer, because in a fall your hands are the first thing to hit the ground.
