According to Article 85.4 of the General Traffic Regulations (RGC), as worded by RD 518/2026, when overtaking cyclists you must take special care not to create dangerous situations, moving partly or fully into the next lane or the opposite lane and keeping a safety gap of at least 1.5 metres. Speeding up or using the horn to make them move aside increases the risk.
