At night, must a load that sticks out sideways more than 0.40 metres beyond the outer edge of the vehicle's sidelights be signalled?

According to Article 15 of the General Traffic Regulations, if the load sticks out sideways more than 0.40 metres beyond the outer edge of the sidelights, at night or in poor visibility it must be signalled at each side end: facing forwards with a white light and a white reflector, and facing backwards with a red light and a red reflector.
