As a general rule, on interurban roads stopping or parking must always be done off the carriageway, on its right-hand side, leaving the usable part of the hard shoulder clear. In this case the hard shoulder is usable and must be kept clear for certain vehicles, such as cycles, mopeds, animal-drawn vehicles, vehicles for people with reduced mobility, special vehicles with a maximum authorised mass of up to 3,500 kg and vehicles accompanying cyclists.
